| Our Story
In 2011, Daniel Stein felt called to train children, adolescents, and adults with special needs. With certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the National Federation of Personal Trainers (NFPT) and becoming a Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer, Daniel specializes in health and fitness for the special needs population. In 2016, Daniel and his wife, Trinity, started Special Strong. The Special Strong Certification helps service providers and others learn effective techniques for meltdown management, motivation, challenge behaviors and more. This course is the proud result of 75+ years of combined experience in the special needs industry, service provided to over 1,000 special needs clients and countless man hours.
Our online certification course helps people learn meltdown management, motivation and challenge behaviors for all special needs populations, not just one. And there’s more. At Special Strong, we spent thousands of hours testing and honing these techniques. Proven to work with over 1,000 clients including Down’s, autism, cerebral palsy and other conditions. | Get The Special Strong Certification Course (Online study)
Study at your own pace in the comfort of your own home or office. The Special Strong Certification Program offers three paths to creating your own success stories. Our Special Strong Trainer Certification teaches you how to work 1-on-1 with special needs individuals. And our Special Strong Group Certification teaches you how to lead groups (yes you can!) of up to groups of 30 special needs individuals through productive activities and routines like physical activity, coordinated playtime and team building exercises. Also offering corporate training.

Our course is an educational certification, so anyone can take the course and there are no prerequisites for enrollment. If at any point you plan to use our certification to work with others, you must have a valid CPR/AED certification and any other credentials required by your governing service provider agency.
Absolutely. We designed this certification to help anyone with a passion for the special needs population.
Yes. Additionally, you could have the ability to implement certain components of our certification into your current profession. Please check the requirements of your governing service provider agency.
You have one year from the purchase date to access the online course and take the test.
It depends. To do any type of personal training, you must first be an accredited certified personal trainer. Our certification is an educational certification that can be combined with personal trainers and other types of service providers.
Yes! Our certifications are recognized by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as an Approved Continuing Education Provider. Get up to 1.0 NASM CEUs!
Once you pass, you are certified for life!
In addition to NASM, other agencies may allow you to submit the course as a continuing education credit. Please contact your governing agency for more information.

You can take the test up to three times. We require a score of 90% to pass. After 3 failed attempts, it costs $99 to retest.
