Alex is originally from Colombia but moved to Lumberton Texas, a small town just East of Houston, at the age of 6. Her passion for health and fitness began at an early age and was sparked when she played soccer and tennis. She played Hardin County soccer for 4 years and high school soccer and tennis for 2 years.
Her passion grew stronger during her time in college. Alex attended Stephen F. Austin University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Health Science. She is a certified personal trainer in the SuperSlow method and she strives to help people reach their health and fitness goals by encouraging healthy lifestyle changes so her clients can achieve an optimal life. The most rewarding aspect of this passion for Alex is watching people go through their transformations into becoming the best version of themselves!
Her passion for making a difference and changing people’s lives prevails even more in the special needs community because of her little brother, Harold. Alex’s brother was born with Down Syndrome and is her true inspiration in her life. Growing up with a sibling with special needs had its opportunities for growth and also it’s moments of wisdom; it taught her patience, understanding, love, and most importantly true joy. Alex wants to pursue a career working with the special needs community because she wants to make a positive impact in their lives as her brother has for her. She is ecstatic to join Special Strong and pursue her true calling!
During her leisure time, Alex enjoys spending time with her friends and visiting her family in Lumberton. She likes to go explore different areas of Houston and find new activities such as visiting museums, parks, and restaurants. Though not originally a professional sports fan, Alex has grown to love the Houston Astros (especially Altuve!), Rockets, and Texans and she enjoys attending games with her boyfriend, Thomas.
